Chambord Royale, perfect for celebrations and festive occasions

Chambord

Sexy. Luxurious. Magnificent. And so much more! I adore Chambord, a French liqueur made with blackberries, raspberries with a touch of vanilla, in a base of XO Cognac. It really is sexy, even the bottle is distinctive!

Now apparently, it was inspired by a black raspberry liqueur that was made for King Louis the XIV on his visit to Chateau Chambord. Let me just digress slightly and tell you that Chateau Chambord is awe inspiring with its blend of French medieval and Renaissance architecture. If you would like to learn more, head on over here.

How to make Chambord Royale

Chambord is a true delight to sip and mix in cocktails. Its nose is a complex combination of raspberry, honey, orange and vanilla. There are so many ways you can use this liqueur but one of my favourite ways of drinking it is with the simple but elegant Chambord Royale.

Champagne, Chambord, Raspberry – easy much?

If you don’t fancy wasting the champagne, a good sparkling wine will do too. A very popular alternative is:

Chambord and Prosecco

you could use prosecco or champagne

I like to boost this recipe with a half ounce of white rum. It adds depth to the flavour and make sure you sip it slowly!
