Toasted Rice Powder Recipe (Khao Khua)

  • 12 tbsp sticky rice or rice of your choice


  1. Heat a small frying pan on medium low heat.
  2. Toast the rice DRY in the pan, for 10 – 15 minutes, shaking the pan frequently so all the rice gets a good browning.
  3. Let cool, then either pound in a pestle and mortar or blitz by pulsing in a coffee mill. As mentioned above, don’t go too fine with the mill.
  4. That’s it! Use it all up!
