Do you need a tagine (pot) to cook tagines? No you don’t. Unless you have an unseasoned clay tagine, and more importantly, cooking it over coals, you won’t notice a difference in flavour or aroma. So a good old casserole dish or dutch oven will suffice very nicely.
In fact, that’s how I “make” my very British mother in law eat tagines – by cooking them in a pan, and not calling them anything exotic! 🤣
